Browser timeout
Permalink
I never asked before about this annoying problem because i thought it would be fixed; but it is persisting for so long. When ever I update a block and sometimes when i am adding blocks, the browser goes busy for a long period and at times I have to press on cancel to see the update. This is annoying to the core.
This happens on every site I have built with concrete5.
I there is a solution out there, please refer me to it. Thanks in advance.

Hey Frz. I noticed 2 major things with the demo you sent me.
1. It is much faster than my sites(I have built around 10 sites with Concrete5)
2. The timeout problem does not exist.
I am relieved and sad at the same time because I have been living with this problem for ever.
I use Hostmonster's hosting solution and they do automatic installs using SimpleScript. Any ideas what might be contributing to this problem? I am much more a designer than a programmer at this stage.

whelp, that makes one think its a server config issue. It's pretty easy to imagine hostmonster's servers are sold and resold till there are few resources to spare... You might talk to them.. point out concrete5 runs perfectly fine elsewhere but slow on their setup..
There is a caching layer you can turn on, check out the dashboard > site wide settings.. that can help a lot if it's not already on.

I will look into that and post a reply. Thanks.
If you setup a demo onhttp://getconcrete5.com/demo and play with that, do you get the same experience?
