Bug in MCE editor for Link to External URL

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hello All there,

I am in need of another help. I have finished one more website using Concrete 5 CMS. Every thing working fine but a small glitch in MCE editor. I cannot insert any link to external URL. For example, if I want to put the term google and insert a link to it suchhttp://www.google.com. Usually, I will select the term then click on the URL Link icon, it will show a pop up box, there we input the URL. I did the same and clicked insert button, the page got refreshed but the pop up window still stands and the Link field is cleared. I cannot link my text to an external URL now.

Any one have idea about this?? I dont know what to do, its a bit urgent issue. Is there any bug is MCE editor?? I am using concrete 5 version 5.5.2.1.

please help, thanks in advance.

Note :=- I am attaching screenshots of the issue

1. screeshot of I am inserting an external URL to the text google.
2. state of pop up window after I clicked the insert button

Have you chosen a target? TinyMCE might be disregarding it without a target being chosen. Might also try clearing the site cache (long shot).

It's not something I've seen before, so I'm guessing here.

@myTooq

thank you for the response. I have some updates. I have another website which is powered by same version. In that website, this external link is working. I compared the versions, its same. Now I think its my mistake I have done some editing to MCE.

So is there anyway I can replace the MCE /plugins from the working website to the not working one?

pls tell me which are the folders I have to copy paste.

thank you..

I have typed the target URL. in the screenshot, I have attached, you can see that.
But I dont know, the MCE is not picking it up, it just reloaded and show the same window.

I am sure its my mistake, but I am not sure what I have done wrong.

Update..

the problem is fixed now. I have copied the folder js in concrete/js from the working website to the non-working one. I am sure I have messed with some js file before but I forgot what I have done. Anyways, this saved my day. This issues is resolved. thank you for responding.
