C 5.7 Page Settings

The background is black- REALLY BLACK. I can't see what I'm doing in black.
Please how do I change it?
Oh, and I'm not asking about the webpage I'm working on; I'm asking about the page that has DESIGN, Attributes, Cache and the rest.
Thank you

I'm not having issues with the theme. I can change things there at will. It is the left sidebar you get when you click the gear for Page Settings. That is all black!
How do I change that setting?
It is one of the System Pages. As a noob I don't know which one it is.

I think I found it in Chrome Devtool:
User agent stylesheet
body {
display:black;
}
But which file is it and am I likely to break something in core?

Hi kentek,
Please take a screenshot of the issue you are having.
Are you using a custom theme?

1. Somewhere you have CSS overriding the background, making it black.
2. Your desktop environment is 'dark' themed, causing everything that is normally white within applications to be displayed as black.
Try opening up chrome dev tools, and look at the css being applied to the <body> element. Is there something there such as background: #000 ???? If so, then your template is making it black.
