i think you haven't set the checkbox [x] This page. Remove your calendar and readd him and set the checkbox.

I tried it both with checking the box for this page and leaving the box empty. I don't know what else to do.

Another problem I have is that when I add an event, it flashes and doesn't add the event. Thanks for any help.

The calendar NEEDS a page type of calendar somewhere. This is how it clumps events together.

and take a look at which page is setup as which page type, how the events are added, etc.

my bet is you just need to setup a page type of calendar somewhere and correctly associate the calendar block with it.

the screencast in the calendar marketplace add-on section talks about how these pieces go together a bit, perhaps that will help
