I have been trying to figure this out for HOURS!

I can not add new pages to run parallel to 'Home" page. The only functional ones are the default "about and search" pages. If I add a new page on sitemap by clicking on home and selecting add new page, the new page comes up UNDER the default pages, not parallel. If I click on one of the new page tabs, I'm redirected to that page, but all the other tabs disappear at the top.

VERY FRUSTRATED! please someone guide me through how to add a page that's parallel to home in the site tree
