Cannot change site name in version of 5.5.1
Permalink
At this time my website is carrying the name " My Site ", I am using the Concrete5 theme " Dark Chocolate "
I have done as instructed .. Dashboard > Stacks > Global Areas .. and when gretting there I am told to click on the dropdpwn list and click on " Site Name " where I can then change my websites name. The only problem is that there is NO dropdown list, no " Site Name " to click on so I CAN change the name.
HELP PLEASE
( Also, I HATE the new Dashboard in the 5.5.1 version, give us the old one back please )

No KateD,
I am only talking about the words " My Site " that should remove so that your site name can replace it. it has to do with the " Global Areas ", or at least one in specific that should be there to remove ( or change the wording in ), but isn't.
I was given a way to correct this where I have this same question posted elsewhere, and it has to do with replacing one code with another in the core area, but I do not know how to find that " core area ".
Thank you though :)

Sorry, had to double-check what I thought I read...
On the 5.5 installation I'm looking at, you get to the global site name through
- Dashboard,
- under Stacks & Blocks,
- click on Stacks.
This will open a dialog box that shows your Global Areas and Stacks. Under Global Areas, you should see "Site Name as one of them.
If you don't see it, it's because there are no global areas defined in your site theme, which would be likely if you have a pre-5.5 theme. That's easy enough to add, but we'll jump off that bridge when we get to it. Hope this is a little more helpful.

I've already answered in your other post here: http://www.concrete5.org/community/forums/chat/cannot-change-site-n...
Hello,
First let me begin by saying I was connected with my website. That said .....
I wished to edit a page to add a block, so when I clicked to do so, instead to appearing as it normally would I received an " error " message saying that such and such/block was not found on line 40.
So I thought that maybe it had to do with the latest version update of concrete5, so I went to reinstall the previous version in it's place. I could not do that either as another "error " message came up.
I cannot seem to get this to post ... HELP PLEASE
So I let it go and thought well maybe if I refresh that page something might work properly. And when it came back up, in place of my website appearing before me I receive this " error " message -
Fatal error: Exception thrown without a stack frame in Unknown on line 0
I would include the " Error " messages that came up in the first two incidents, but I did not copy and save them at the time as I thought just reinstalling the previous version of concrete5 would take care of the problem.
And now I am completely unable to access my website period.
I want to know what is going on, and what needs to be done to correct these issues. I am assuming that if I cannot access my website, then no one can. This is totally unacceptable !!!!

Try [Dashboard] - [System & Settings] - [Site Name] (upper-left corner under Basics).
