Cannot customize theme in dashboard

Hi, folks.

I'm running c5 locally on a WAMP setup, and everything's going pretty well. But I did run into a bit of a confusing situation, so I was hoping someone here could clarify it for me. It's not something that's stopped me in my tracks, but I'd love to understand it better.

I downloaded the "simple blue" theme from the marketplace and installed it for my site. The theme ended up being placed in the following location:

C:\wamp\www\concrete\packages\theme_simple_blue\themes\simple_blue

Now, I realize this wasn't in the same place as all the other themes, but I wasn't sure if that was by design or what, so I proceeded to make modifications to the typography.css file. One of the modifications I made was to add the /* customize_h1_color */ type of comments so that I could edit certain elements' colors in the dashboard. And, like magic, those color pickers showed up in the "simple blue" customization screen in the dashboard. Yay!

But here's the thing. I can click on those color pickers, but can't select a color. Clicking in the color palette seems to do exactly... nothing. Likewise, I can't click the text/font button for the body or logo sections, either. Hover mouse over it, click, nothing.

So who can solve this mystery for me?

What browser are you running? Are you getting any JavaScript errors?

I'm running on Chrome, but haven't gotten any errors that I know of.

Where would I be seeing the JavaScript errors? (I should clarify that I'm a tech writer/content guy more than a web designer, so I'm learning as I go along, but things have been pretty smooth up to this point.)
