Can't edit/remove core Image Slider block

Hi.
I added the core Image Slider block to a v8 localhost site but I didn't add content to it straight away. Now I can't edit it at all. It appears in edit mode with the "disabled in edit mode" message but it's not clickable and shows no signs of life.
I'd like to be able to edit it or, even better, remove it from the page. Please help!
