Cant' get File Manager's Replace function to work

I have several pdf files that I need to update. The first two attempts worked fine, but the third file just won't complete. I find the file in File Manager, click on it to pull up the menu, choose Replace, browse to the new file, select it, click on Upload and then wait, wait, wait and wait some more. The file won't complete the upload. The files are PDF's less than 1 MB in size. I've done this many times before and I'm stumped as to why this won't work. Does anybody have a clue for me?

Thanks,
Steve

I discovered the source of this problem. I had initially setup button links using the url from the properties listing of the file I was linking to. This works fine to link to the file, but if you want to update the file using Replace, the file doesn't get replaced. If you want to set the link up to allow file updates, you need to select your button (or link text) and then click on "Add File" and browse to the file you would like to link to. This installs a file ID pointer instead of the url path to the file. When you use Replace, to update the file later, the newly uploaded replacement file is assigned to this pointer ID so that the current link(s) now pull up the newly replaced file.

I have not found this distinction in the instructions yet. If it is not there, it should be. It would have saved me hours of re-linking.
