Cant stay logged in

Hi,at the moment if i login in as a registered member after adding them in the users and groups.When i change between pages,the user is automatically logged out.What could be the reasons for that to happen?

This just started happening to my site. It seems like somehow the admin lost admin privileges, but I don't know how.

When I go to Users and Groups, if I click the + button, it says permission denied or something like that. If I check the "filter by Administrator group" checkbox, there are no users. So, clearly admin is no longer superuser.

Any easy way to re-make admin as superuser again?

NOTE: server crashed and this might be the reason.
