Can't tidy up header. Can't move blocks, buttons etc

I am using the Greek Yogurt theme with Superfish add-on drop down menus.
The problem I have is that there is a dotted line, below my site name that I am unable to edit. It does not appear to be selectable in edit mode. At the moment it runs along , under my site name, then stops as it hits the navigation buttons, It looks amateurish. ( I am a total newb at this)

OK, so I try to work around that by moving the navigation block upwards and out of the way a little, but when I exit edit mode it always moves back to where it was before.
It bugs me that things are in different positions in edit mode from where they will be in real-life: what's the point in that?

Ideally I'd like my site-name to be on the same horizontal axis as my site-nav buttons, and I'd like that pesky dotted line to go away. It doesn't seem possible though. See Screenshots, they might help to explain.
Edit Mode: And the dotted line goes all the way across the header:
View Mode and the dotted line is in the way of nag buttons:

Hi
The dotted line is more common in the default "Plain Yogurt" theme rather than in "Greek Yogurt". Try going to Dashboard > Pages & Themes > Themes and making sure Greek Yogurt is the one selected.
Otherwise, in your Main.css for Plain Yogurt on about line 32 you'll find the call for the background image (looks like...... background: url(images/nav_horizontal_divider.gif) no-repeat top) that you can try commenting out to see if that fixes it.

(Remember, if you change themes manually, its good practice to copy them into the empty theme folder one level up as an override so you don't lose edits when upgrading later.)

To see exactly what is causing the dotted line, open your site in Chrome and right-click on the dotted line and choose "Inspect Element". In the window that opens, you should be able move your mouse around in the left pane to pinpoint the div that contains the logo and then when you click on that div, the css file and line number that's adding the border to that div should show up in the right pane. Toggle the 'border' rules off and back on again until the line disappears. This way you will know where to edit the css file in your theme folder to get rid of the line.

My Mistake,
It is actually the "Plain Yogurt" theme that I am using.

(I did pay for the Tiger theme but when I activate it , it is just a hellish mush on the screen which I have no hope of sorting and editing)

I am very new to all this and a bit clueless about where these folders etc are. Would I need to go into my control panel for by web hosting service to access them, rather than via my Concrete Dashboard?

Thanks,
Wul

Hi Wul,

Yes, you need to use a program like Filezilla and set it up to access your files on your server. You can certainly get to your files via the Control Panel->File Manager but that method is usually kind of clunky. Filezila is free and the FTP login info you need to set it up should have been included in the initial email you got when you signed up for your hosting package. (https://filezilla-project.org/download.php)

You should email the developer of the Tiger theme for help. Whenever you pay for a theme, the developer provides free support for their theme. The Tiger theme is quite new and I'm sure it works but there might be something simple that the developer can pinpoint for you.

Thanks,
I do have Filezilla but have not used it yet.
One of the things that annoys me, as someone who knows nothing about code, is that Concrete bills itself as a code free option, but whenever anything glitches then coding is needed to sort it out.
I think I would be better off using a drag and drop package maybe, even with the "bloated code" that others warn me about.

Thanks for trying to help me. I should be outside running my business instead of puttering about on my laptop.

I just want to say thanks to Mike (mhawke). He has helped me out with my site problems, on a one to one basis, away from this forum, and given up hours of his free time doing so.
Amazing generosity, thanks Mike. May your karma increase in real life and Concrete too!
My site is now working the way it should (until I mess it up again).
The problem seemed to in using a third party upload of Concrete5 (via my web-hosting service), which messed up some code, and also using an outdated free theme, which didn't migrate my content properly over to a new theme.
Thanks again,
Wul
