Changing meta title but changes not taking affect
Permalink
We have a site and are trying to do some SEO.
The site ishttp://www.kitronik.co.uk/
I am editing individual pages > properties > custom attributes > meta title.
These changes can be seen so I know it is changed.
The problem is when I look at the site a day or so later the meta titles have reverted back to what they were before I changed them.
Has anyone had the same problem or any idea as to what might cause this?

After you have made the change are you publishing your changes? If you log out, are the changes still there, or are they only visible while logged in?
I am publishing them and they are also visible when I log out. I can also see the changes if another user makes them but theirs also revert back after a period of time.
This can only ever happen if one of the following things has occurred:
1) Another user has been in and updated the title, back to what it was.
2) Your changes have been reverted in the Versions tab, or a different
Version has been activated.
3) Something is resetting information in the database.
Basically, when you make the change in the properties tab, it updates the
value in the database. Someone must be manually changing it back, or a
script is automatically updating it for you. (No scripts within the Core C5
do this...)
You could click on Versions and ensure that the most recent version is
active and check to see if anyone else is messing with your changes...

Hello Jon,
Thanks for your reply.
I had already checked points 1 and 2 before I posted this thread. It wasn't me who first said they were seeing the problem, and I assumed that the user was doing something silly (ie one of the points you made). It turned out they were doing everything correctly and publishing the changes they made. I tried it myself and noticed the same problem.
I guess it is likely to be the third point which is the more difficult to solve.
We are using the 'Classy business' theme which we purchased from the marketplace. I guess this might be a good starting point.

Sometimes this happens for me if I change the page name and it does not get written into the database correctly and then it takes it from the meta attribute.
Click on the page and go to properties then click over to custom attributes and change the meta title that did not get updated
