Choose a Page Type has disappeared from Design

Hello, I can no longer choose a page type under Edit this page -> Design -> Choose a Page Type.
The only "choice" left in the Design window is for theme.
It still works on the Home page, but not on any other pages.
I'm running 5.6.0.2, which I upgraded to from 5.6.0.1 after the problem started. I had also installed a new theme, so I deleted that and emptied all caches, system and browser.
Any thoughts on how I should proceed?
