Clicking Edit button makes dashboard top disappear

When I click the Edit button, the bar completely disappears, so I can't edit the page. It is as if I've logged out.
It happens in the Default themes, too. It's not something I did to my theme.
Why is this happening all of a sudden?
All files permissions are 755 and everything was working fine last week.

EDIT: No it's not... just randomly starts doing it.
Why is this happening? It is a little bit scary since I am close to deadline and have no idea what is wrong here.
