Compare Versions - What is supposed to happen?

When I enter editing mode for a page and click VERSIONS, and chose 2 versions and click COMPARE, it loads a popup with the newest version of the page displayed. Is this correct behavior? What is supposed to happen?

Hi, Andrew.

What is supposed to happen when you compare versions is that a new popup will open and display the page. Differences in the versions will be highlighted with deletions marked with red backgrounds (and strikethrough text in some situations), and additions/replacements marked with green backgrounds.

I've attached a screenshot to provide an example.

Thanks very much, your brief but to the point description should be added to the documentation.

Does this work within the block content itself, or just on a page level (shows different blocks).

If this is supposed to show changes within block content, then it isn't working for me.

When I make a change to an html content block it isnt showing in the compare function of the versions...

See video attached (please excuse watermark, it is a demo version of the screen capture)

Odd.

In my experience, it shows changes like the one you made.

I do know that the Compare Versions functionality can be a little finicky, depending on what you're running.

I use WAMPserver, and I had to jump through several hoops (like adding Python) to get the functionality working correctly.

Sorry I can't offer more help, but I'm pretty much a noob to c5. There is a great community of folks with tons of knowledge here, but they can sometimes get pretty busy and you'll see a bit of a lull in the responses.

Hope you get it figured out.
