Core Commerce missing products in sitemap and menu item disappeared!

Hi,
I am new to C5 and trying to add products to an existing site. I have been having issues when adding a new product and selecting the page. For some reason, when adding a product and selecting "products" from the site map to create a page, a detail page would not be created. AND NOW the entire "products" is missing from the site map and the menu item is missing in the front end.
All I have done was tried to add a couple products, then I deleted them because detailed pages were not be created. I did nothing that should make a huge chunk of the site map disappear!
