Creating new page with same sidebar

I've completely customized my sidebar on the home page and I'm really happy with it, but when I add a new subpage (doesn't matter what type) the sidebar resets. How do I get the sidebar to stay the same on every page, but still remain editable globally?
go to Dashboard > page types. Select "defaults" for the page type you'd like to customize. Once set, when you create a new page of that type it will appear as you want it to !! to make it globally editable, use stacks to build your sidebar and then you can simply edit the stacks and your sidebar will change throughout your whole site...

make sure if you are going to add any "design" to the sidebar area that you include the "design" within the stacks, as design is not passed directly from page type defaults to the new page for some reason... FYI!!
How exactly do you mean 'including the design'?
for example, at the bottom of your home page if you click on "add to sidebar" > "design" you can add background, border, spacing, etc. If you add design like this to the page type defaults, C5 will not pass those settings to each new page for some reason. But if you include any "design" within the stacks you create for your sidebar, THEN it will pass to each new page you create.
