CSS Styles and Global Scrapbook

I created a block to use as a global scrapbook item. It has a CSS class applied to it. I copied it to the scrapbook, but when I paste it into a page from the scrapbook, it loses its CSS style. That's fine, I can reapply the style. But when I do, it breaks the link to the scrapbook. So how can I paste a block into the global scrapbook so that it retains the CSS class I've applied?

I'm running C5 version 5.4.0.5.

Old thread, but seems to be relevant still. If you change margins on blocks in the scrapbook, it does not apply to the places where these are inserted.

... not much of a help, but will let you know that you are not the only one with the problem.
