customizing the page menu
Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hello, I'm trying to locate the file that I need to edit to change the page menu from english to french... (I'm talking about the names on the upper right of the page)
The names of the new pages I've created are all in french and that's what I want, but the default pages... I can't seem to be able to locate the file where the names are in (and where to change them...)
Any help is appreciated
Thanks
P.

This is easier than you think.
In your Dashboard, click Sitemap.
Left click on the page you wish to change and select Properties.
Change the name of the page on the Standard Properties page.
You should also (imo) change the Canonical URL in Page Paths and Location tab.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

Indeed much more easy than I thought. Thanks it did indeed help a lot. In fact it solved my problem altogether :)

One last thing though, what do you mean by : "change the canonical URL in page paths and location tab"?
Again, from Sitemap:
Left click the page in question.
Select Properties.
Click the tab labelled 'Page Paths and Location.'
Change the 'Canonical URL' with by entering a new path in the first input, presumably in your language of choice.
Cheers!

Hey thanks a bunch!!! That did it. Indeed the canonical path was still in English. I'm not sure what it meant to change it... However I had a feeling since this was an URL that I had to drop the accents and have no space between words... Good guess, right?
Anyhow I think now this is resolve.
Thanks again

Glad to help!
btw, you can use dashes(-) in lieu of spaces, although some prefer the underscore (_).
Good Luck!
