Deleted Single Page of E-Commerce
Permalink
I did delete the "cart" single page in the E-Commerce Plugin. Now my basket does not work anymore and I try to get that single page back.
How can I get a single page back in the system? Should be very easy or am I wrong?
But if I try this:http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/editors/restore-a-de...
I do get an error telling me that the given page "seems to be not a valid static page" - it's translated from german, so maybe it should say "seems to be not a valid single page".
How do I get that page back? (Trash bin is empty)

What you now have is (I suspect) a whole bunch of orphaned database content that the re-installed eCommerce doesn't know about.
Your best bet is to recover from a backup made before you deleted the cart page.

No backup there and before I use a backup for this I'll use another shop or clean the database from hand. But I cannot believe that a single deinstall/reinstall can corrupt the system so much without any emergency "button" that checks trough the files/db entries...
How about a backup from between deleting the cart and uninstall/reinstall of eCommerce? If yo could get back to that, you could get the cart page back by hand.
Yes, a backup would work, but if that is the only solution then we won't use E-Commerce anymore. That is to big a risk.
E-Commerce is from the core team, no? I really really cannot grasp how you can screw up the uninstall routine so much that you can't install it again and use it further. I mean the uninstall process leaves also all the DB tables and entries just there.
Uninstall/reinstall should be kind of the last resort method if everything else screws up and doesn't work and not the backup, no?

This should be in the ecommerce area. There's both a support section and a questions and discussions area in there. It's only an accident that I found this thread here at all.
It's rather hard to make a magic fixit button that would cover cases like this. You probably want to be careful about deleting pages you didn't make that 3rd party packages create.
Unfortunately John is right, a fresh install is the way to go. I appreciate that's frustrating, but if you went around deleting parts of your computer's operating system you'd end up in a very similar boat.

By Fresh install I mean a clean concrete5 instance too.
There's a lot of little details in your post that confuse me. The translated from german bit is a red flag, what do you mean translated FROM german? Deleting the cart page is certainly a bad move, but many others have been able to restore it in the past and that shouldn't cause all the issues you're having. I have to wonder if there aren't quite a few things that have happened to this install at this point, and a fresh start wouldn't be wiser.

Thank you Franz for taking the time to reply.
If I install a program on windows and the program does not work correctly then I re-install the program and not the operating system. What I have is purely a problem with the e-commerce plugin, not with whole concrete5.
With translated from german means that my system runs in german and that I translated the error message back into english for the forum - but I suspect that it was originally bad translated into german, so you got now something else then the original english error message that appears for this kind of error.
This install is fresh. Installed 5.5.2.1, added a couple plugins, installed e-commerce, deleted cart page and got into the mess. Nothing else was done with this installation and except e-commerce everything works.
I also wrote in the support forum, but I got no answer - maybe because of the timezones, you were probably still sleeping, but I thought I ask in the forum, maybe someone knows something.

I did uninstall E-Commerce, deleting any table in the DB with commerce in it's name and also did delete the package.
Then I downloaded the package fresh, installed it and tried to add a product.... still the same buggy behavior.
I get a "page not found error" when I try to create a new product, the same like before and the same as when I tried to open a product or create one.
/dashboard/core_commerce/products/add/submit/
This link gave me the error. Any ideas?

WTF... is there a button somewhere to clean up the database for E-Commerce? 5.4.2.2 had this kind of button for their modules, but I cannot find it in the 5.5.x version. Is it - like most stuff in 5.5 - hidden on a really dumb place?
