Design doesn't change

Hi guys
I'm relatively new to Concrete5 so if this is an obvious questions then I'm sorry.
I recently setup a site and used the Keep It Simple theme but trying to change the design to full width only makes it revert to the sidebar on the right. Attached are screenshots to demonstrate my point.
Can anyone shed some light on where I should be looking to fix this problem?

Yes the default seems to be with a sidebar on the right. This is what they say here:

The Keep it Simple theme has 4 different layout options:
1. 2 Columns - Right Sidebar (default.php)
2. 2 Columns - Left Sidebar (left_sidebar.php)
3. 3 Columns - Main Content, Sidebar, Sidebar (main_side_side.php)
4. 3 Columns - Sidebar, Main Content, Sidebar (side_main_side.php)
But why is a full width icon displayed(?)
Btw, I really wish C5 could one day have a template builder with a drag and drop function. You select the module you want in a list on the top toolbar and then you drop it and position it on your page where you want it. Just like an image. That would be pure magic and save us so much time :)
