Does it Search in HTML Block?

As above, does the search index words/terms contained in HTML blocks?

yes it does. At least 5.6 does.
So long as the area is included in the index (or not excluded).

As far as I know if ANY content is in a stack (regardless of block type) it won't be indexed in any version.
