Dropdown for editable areas in topbar

Hey
I'm busy working on a rather complicated page, using jcarousel etc. This becomes extremely difficult to edit in edit mode as divs dissapear etc.
I struck me that a partial solution would be to add a dropdown of editable areas in the c5 top bar - when selected it triggers the same event that would be triggered when clicking "add to area".
Any idea how to do this? Perhaps a possible feature request.
