duplicate files - which one to remove?

I've got a customer that accidentally uploaded the same file twice.
In the file manager there are two files of course. This can happen, okay.
Now what? There's not information about the use of the files, which file can be removed? It is possible to remove a file without a warning.
I know this seems to be a minor problem but since you're rewriting the hole file manager, this might be something to think about?

this is already better in new file manager in a number of ways.
I just check that in the latest dev branch. I can still remove a file that's in use without getting a warning or any kind of information...?
DuplicateFilesDeleter helped me in this case.
