eCommerce clients forced to login to buy despite this being turned off..

Hi,
This client has upgraded to the latest version of concrete and ecommerce and despite having the login function turned off in Settings and Product Properties, they are still being asked to login.
This is fairly urgent... does anyone have any ideas.
