We updated the theme templates and now the EDIT and ADD buttons on the edit bar will not work on the home page. They work on all other pages and even if we create a new page with the same page design as the home page - they work. This is very frustrating after spending 2 days trying to troubleshoot this - I am at a loss.

I checked the default.php and interior.php (inside page template) and they are set up identical where the header is concerned. Again, if we create a new page and use the default.php (home) template - the edit/add buttons do work on that page. This is very odd and I am going grayer by the minute.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
