When I receive an e-mail notification about a new form submission the content of the 'text area' is echoed in the upload field. Do you know where I can tweak that? Preferably I would like it to link to the uploaded file or just state whether or not a file was uploaded. Thanks.

Email notification files are located in your root/concrete/mail folder.
Copy whichever you need to customize into your root/mail folder and make the changes on that copy.
