Editing Page Types in Dashboard

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Just wondering about editing page types in dashboard. I'm applying auto-navs to my page types so that the client won't have to add the menu everytime they create a page. However, if I edit the auto-nav after applying it to a page type, will it update all of those pages with that page type applied to it.

Example: Changing how many levels of menu displays on the menu or adding something to the page type, a horizontal rule for instance.

Yep, if you apply the auto-nav to a specific page type, then update it later, all pages of that page type will reflect the changes.

You can also do this via the scrapbook which sometimes comes in handy!

I have some scrapbook items, but I just don't want the client to have to put the nav on every page they build.

Thanks.

Any reason it wouldn't update?

I'm resurrecting this thread because when I edit my Page Type's 'Defaults', those pages within my site assigned to those Page Types don't update. Any reason?

Does this issue have anything to do with page type naming conventions?
