Embedded mp4 in a table

Permalink 1 user found helpful
Hi, I'm having trouble with something that works "sometimes". I have a 2 cell table. Left cell is an image. Right cell is some text with an embedded mp4 video below it. I've done this several times and it works but inconsistently. I've tried various options from the "advanced" tab (e.g. kiosk mode, non auto start, show controls, etc).

Anyone with any input? Much appreciated.

you can see the page athttp://www.natzure.com/index.php/portfolio/...

Thanks, Byron

Hello,
I am not sure I understand what is not working properly. Is it the player? Can you say more about what's happening?

Thanks for your message. The video player doesn't show up at all. If you go to the site, the top row, right cell, there is an mp4 video embedded. Similar to the bottom row. The middle row doesn't have a video.

I've attached some screenshots or you can see on my site

go to the portfolio page

Hope that helps and thanks again.

Yes you are right it's not there. And what I mean is that when looking at your page's html code, it is really just not there as if you didn't put it there.

I'm sorry but there isn't much more I can say without having access to the page editing.

Thanks. I'm not a programmer which is why I use Concrete5. If you look at the the page, the last table has a working player in it. I used the same steps
from the content menu
Insert media
Select Quicktime
Advanced select controls and deselect auto run
save
This worked on the other 2 players.
When I save the block, I can briefly seen the QuickTime "Q" and then it goes away.
Thanks

as I said, I can have a look if you want but I would need an access to your dashboard.

If you want me to have a look, send me a login and password by PM, not here on the forum

Hello again
Sorry to bother you but I wanted to say that I finally got it working.

Thanks for your kind help and to give me some great ideas.

I used the same player as before but chose html5 instead of quicktime and used the same mp4 file and it worked, including showing controls etc.

How to I give you Karma or other kudos?

many thanks

Hey that's great. And that's probably going to be a better experience all around than quicktime.

You know I don't even have quicktime working on my computer because of security concerns so html5 default player is a better choice.

Don't worry about kudos or anything, it's been a pleasure. I love to help people help themselves and in the end that's what you did.

Have fun

Hello again,
well...would you believe. After working this morning...now it doesn't and again, inconsistently. Very strange.

OK,

Got it working again. It seems that if you edit the image area, you need to delete and reinsert the url to the image or (at times) it'll come up as unsupported.

Right now, all 4 work. Would you mind doing a quick test to see if they work for you?

Once again, you are truly amazing.

Thanks

Byron
