It's in an how-to (http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/how-tos/developers/update-ve... ).

It's not the recommended way to update concrete5, but it may save your live in some situations ;)

My message above may point to the solution: to understand the problem and solve it it's necessary to know the situation and the steps you did...

I put the concrete5.6.2 folder in my upgrades folder.

When I run the script you linked to it says I have concrete5.6.1.2 successfully installed.

Has there been an answer on the problems updating to 5.6.2?

I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getCollectionAttributeValue() on a non-object in /Volumes/Data/Dropbox/SyncedSites/vhosts/www.concrete.dev/packages/page_redirect/models/page_redirect.php on line 19

OK, I found the problem. The 'page redirect' add-on was raising the error, so I uninstalled it (along with the 'page selector' add-on it requires). I made the update and then re-installed the two add-ons.

Everything seems to be OK again (but I did have to go back and reconfigure the page redirect I was using - perhaps I should just learn to code that redirect myself).

FIXED here for me!!

JohnTheFish in another unrelated thread suggested simple direct database/C5 upgrade:

This showed I could upgrade from earlier ver to 5.6.2.1 for some reason- ran it- errors gone!!

thread I found fix:
