Fatal Error message when deleting a block from page type

Hi
I'm receiving the following error when deleting my superfish block from my page type.
Fatal error: Call to a member function getBlockTypeHandle() on a non-object in /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/silicon-cpv/concrete/core/libraries/block_view_template.php on line 41
From looking at the forum i can see that there could be issues with blocks on the clipboard when trying to delete a block from the page. With this in mind i did delete superfish from the clipboard first before trying to delete the block from my pagetype however i still get the above error message on the homepage.
My C5 version is 5.6.1
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
