Faulty block - and now an entire page is unusable
Permalink
I installed the relatively new Kenburns block onto a clients website this morning.
I added the block to a page I had been working on, and now the whole page is unusable.
I've posted the specific page error you get when you go to it here:
http://www.concrete5.org/marketplace/addons/kenburns-slideshow/supp...
However I go into Dashboard > Sitemap to revert the version back to an earlier one. This seems to work. However I can not for some reason remove this buggy version.
I get this error:

I get this error:

The latest stable release - 5.3.3.1
I did make a post in the support forum for the block.

Yes, I noticed the bug-report. Looks like i'm able to reproduce also... Excuse, try to fix asap.
Cool, let me know how you get on.
I really want to retrieve the old pages.
PM if need be and I could give you a login to the site.

This does bring up a good feature request. I know this is not realistic right away, but it would be great if all "bad blocks" could be isolated to display an error in the block location and not affect the rest of the page. Kinda like how Google Chrome tabs don't affect the other tabs. I don't have any clue how this would be accomplished, but just a thought!
This has since been resolved - with an update of the block.
In case someone ones into this kind of issue in the future - simply deleting the block from it's 'packages' directory completely disables it so you can move on and keep working on the page you are on.

It's possible that the block doesn't work with older versions but it's a bit hard to tell since it's a commercial block.... Ask the author of the block, you paid for it, you should get support!
