Feature request: Flag for each block to show / hide

What I really miss is some little tickbox to quickly hide any block. Are there any plans to add this? :-)

Yes, it very handy feauture. but i think it's a long road
for now i think we can trick it, make a template with css 'display:none' in first div layer. so we do not need check/uncheck setup on child and then re-ordering again.

if you have 1000 article, it's really a pain to check/uncheck it. and deal with single page, if you add in footer or header.

some scenario : the banner rent is over, but he will rent again next month. or something like that. so you do not remove it, instead just hide it with tempalate dispay:none, of course use global scrapbook

If you use advanced permissions you can hide individual blocks by adjusting the permissions for that block/area.

Or do you mean for the admin area?

woah sean, long time no see dude.
i playing with advanced permission, took me one day to grasp the idea. and test all scenario.
and the load page time more long, +2 second, so i back to a basic again
remember to back up first if you want to actve advanced permisiion. cuz it's permanent.

I've been very busy buried deep in php and jquery :)

+2 seconds you say ouch, I have never tried testing speeds out with advanced permissions. But that's not good

Was that with the new 5.5.1?, I have heard this has been a big speed improvement but don't know how that would affect the permissions model?

no. it's was with 5.4.2.2,
maybe it was because i'm in 'edit mode', so assume more logic filter runing behind.

i play with advanced permission to hide add/edit button. but istill not a clue.
that jordan Force Single Sublevel add-on really useful in that case
