Featured Page lists are not updating.

Hi,
I have ran in to an issue where none of my featured page lists are updating with new featured pages.
I have added the "is_featured" attribute and they worked fine but all of a sudden the page lists simply stopped updating. I deleted the sites cache and rebooted the server and upgraded to 5.4.2.2 but nothing seems to fix it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
