File Manager Access Denied 5.5.1
Permalink
Whenever I attempt to access or change files in File Manager I receive an Access Denied message. This happens when customizing a search, attempting to apply files to a Set, Rescan and any other File Manager Option. Access Denied, Unable to Access File Manager and then I have to relogin to the site.
I have CHMOD the /FILES/ Directory and all subconents to 775 with no change.
I have checked the File Manager Permissions and everything is set correctly for Administrators. The File Manager Pages in the Site Map also have the correct Permissions.

I would appreciate any help with this. This is seriously frustrating. O can't use the File Manager at all.
Hi, I don't know of you solved your problem, but I had a similar experience when setting up a client with access to the site to edit and add pages. I had restricted access using advanced permissions to avoid him breaking the site - he had problems in that he could add a file, but once it was uploaded he'd receive a message saying 'invalid file' and on upload complete he would see Access Denied.
To fix this, I went to dashboard, systems and settings, File Manager Permissions. In here, I added his user ID to all of the file permissions, and he was able to use the file manager as expected.
Hope this helps

Thanks very much for this - I wound up deleting all user accounts,
creating new ones and resetting the admin password. That has worked thus
far.
Cheers!

Do you have allowed file types entered under system settings/ permissions & access/ allowed file types ?
If not copy this in
flv, jpg, gif, jpeg, ico, docx, xla, png, psd, swf, doc, txt, xls, xlsx, csv, pdf, tiff, rtf, m4a, mov, wmv, mpeg, mpg, wav, avi, m4v, mp4, mp3, qt, ppt, pptx, kml, xml

Suddenly, out of the blue, locked out of permissions for Site Map and File Manager. Access Denied. See attached. Re-saving the proper settings has no effect. I added allll the file types listed (they were already there) and resaved. How does this happen spontaneously?
