File manager thumbnails failed when upgrading to 5.5

After upgrading to C5.5 my file manager does not create thumbnails for my jpeg (100kb). What could gone wrong?

Is this happening for only one particular image or any image you try and upload?

If any image you try, make sure that the permissions on your /files directory and the directories inside of it are writable.
