File Upload Error
Permalink
I am getting this error:
Unable to copy file to storage directory. Please check permissions on your upload directory and ensure they can be written to by your web server
after installing cu3er flash slideshow, I don't know if it's related or not. I have uninstalled the add on but it hasn't fixed the error.
I have searched the forum for answers and I have done the following with no success
- cleared cache
- checked that php safe mode off
- files directory is set to 777
I have tried to add images by url but it says that the image is invalid. Any clues as to what this could be? I've never had this problem using C5, don't know why it would suddenly happen.

must all the files within /files be 777?
Yes. Set everthing in the /files directory to 777 recusively. Also check that the uploads directory actually exists in /files. The packages and updates directories should be set the same way. You may also want to check the setting in the Dashboard/File Manager/Access and see where that is set to.
