Formatting issues on New Pages

Hi. I just set up the site yesterday and added my first new page. My issue is that any new page I create doesn't share the font formatting of the rest of the site. The stuff in the header is suddenly bright purple instead of dark brown and in a different font. I can't find where to change this . . . or how . . .
Am I missing something simple?

did you pick a page type from the existing list or start making your own new page types?
I just clicked on the Add Page icon up at the top and then clicked on Full Width. When it gave me a page to work in, that's how the header showed up.
(I'm used to FrontPage, where absolutely everything is under my control, so I'm still adjusting to all these shortcuts and names for things. =)

Have you tried customizing your theme from the Dashboard? Go to "Pages and Themes" and click on "customize" next to the theme you are using. You can change the color of font and headers from there.
I completely reset the custom theme settings, my site name header still looks different (size & font) on 2 child pages that both use the right side bar page layout.
