Getting MINT to work with C5

Hi all

I feel that I need some more detailed statistics about visitors on my site (www.textcube.ch), so I purchased MINT (www.haveamint.com), which was recommended here somewhere.

Installation worked fine, I inserted

<script src="/mint/?js" type="text/javascript"></script>

into the header.php of my theme.

But how do I get specific info about my pages? I want to know how many people where on what page, not just on my site in general.

Does anybody have any experience with MINT on C5? Do I have to copy that javascript somewhere else too?

I thought I'd ask here first, before heading over to the MINT-forums, since they might not know the C5 system.

thanx

I don't get your question. Mint should be telling you how many people are hitting your pages right away (although it can't tell you about traffic from before it was installed obviously). Can you see the stats at textcube.ch/mint/?

btw, some shameless self promoting here, but there's also now a stats package made specifically for concrete5, integrated with some of concrete's blocks and user data, which will also track pretty much everything that mint does:

Well, what can I say...

a) Screw you! You just made me waste 60 bucks on two licenses for MINT...

or

b) Thanx mate! I'll use that add-on from now on, a lot better, fully integrated and all!

:-D

Seriously, thanx. I'll get it and check it out on my page.

Maybe Mint can give you a refund? If you need to have an account with them to use the service, I'm sure they must have some way of disabling it.

hope i wasn't the one to recommend mint to you (think i might have been). mint is a good package, and i do recommend it to anyone not using concrete ;-) glad to hear you dig the new stats package though. tons of work went into it. cheers.

@Tony: Don't worry about MINT - I'll survive the 60 bucks. And hey, only like this I found out about the add-on. No clue why I didn't find it before, thought I checked all the addons.

Anyway: Is there any way to either export the stats into some file, or give access only to the stats page?

I got a contract with a company I made the site for, and I included detail stats in my services. Now, I could probably just create a nice looking excel-bar-piechart-whatever file, and fill in the numbers myself, but that would be wasting a lot of time - especially since I'd have to do it every month, and in the future for more than one customer.

So - what's the easiest way for me to get those stats to him, without giving him dashboard access?

I've had a few people ask for some type of export function, so that will probably be coming in a later version.

you should be able to set the permissions of that page though so that non-admins can see it. try going to the dashboard sitemap, clicking on the stats page (you might have to click the show system pages option and re-search), click on the site statistics page, and then go to "set permissions".

Tony:

Do you have any idea why MINT and your add-on come up with totally different numbers??

I installed MINT on Nov 22, your addon on Nov 23. So the difference should be minimal...

Best example:

Visits in Nov09:
MINT: 993
Addon: 173 (?)

BUT: The addon states 783 Page Views for Nov09.

Could it be that MINT is screwing up the numbers, taking page views for visits? Or are those two the same thing, and MINT just does not show the actual numbers of visitors?

Can I be sure the numbers shown by your addon are correct? Am I wright that "Visits" are unique visitors (or not unique?), and Page Views is the total number of pages viewed, including all the subpages of the site?

Oh, and is there any way to track more specific? I need to be able to look at every day of the last month, and find out which day was the one with the most visits. Same goes for pages: I need the total hits per page for the entire month back...

Any way to do that?

well, if you didn't install the stats package until the end of november, or until after mint, it's going to show less hits for november. but if you don't think it's that, would you mind giving me browsing access to both apps on your server so that i can see what's up? (if so please private message me through my profile)

also, do you mind putting any issues related to the stats package like this on its support page:
