Google Console Code

I've been setting up Google Console for my new website which is using Core version 8.5.2.
When I add the copied "google-site-verification-code=*******"from Google's Console set up page into: dashboard> System & Settings> SEO & Statistics> Tracking Codes> Header Tracking Codes as suggested the code is visible at the top of my home page.
Is there a way to hide this code?
Many thanks
Ivan

Hey Ivanfinch

For Google Console (Which is now Web Master tools or Search Console) the verification file is to be uploaded to the index of your site. You will need access to the file structure of your site to upload the file.

The site verification doesn't want to be in tracking codes, that's where you would eventually put the google tag manager or analytics codes.

The site verification is a meta tag, and the place for that is in the "header extra content" attribute for the home page of your site.
