When I add the google map block it simply shows a blue map with the locator arrow. when i zoom out all the way it shows a point on the equator, not my address

You are looking at 0 longitude, 0 latitude. Just off the west coast of Africa in the Atlantic ocean, I am guessing.

You need to set your default coordinates.

I am having the same problem as the OP. When I looked at your screen shots I noticed you have the Long/Lat option that I do not have. Any suggestions?

I ended up adding a new HTML content box and copy/pasting the code from the Google Maps site.
