Sure.

If you have advanced permissions turned you you should be able to add groups AND/OR users to any of the spots you can use them including page permissions, area, and specific blocks.

You can also create a "owner" user for a page and do stuff like throw an avatar in the corner like we did in the forums if you're willing to get into a bit of php in your theme

I have been scouring this forum for quite a while looking for the steps to do this.

Can you please tell me how to do this? Advanced Permissions? I see no such button anywhere.

I see an "Update Permissions" button which leads to a "Click here to modify other permissions." I have followed this breadcrumb with no luck, though:
• I added a user
• gave user Log In and Editing permissions in the "other permissions panel"
• went into the Sitemap area and clicked on the appropriate pages and selected Permissions from the popup menu to which I added "Registered Users" to the View and Edit Permissions of those pages.

No dice.

The latest clue I saw was about changing Ownership of the page from this thread:http://www.concrete5.org/index.php?cID=63592&editmode=...

I have done everything I'm supposed to do except perhaps changing Ownership. I have no idea how to do that. The only place I see anything about Ownership is from Properties > Standard Properties tab where it has a little box that says:
Owner
Admin
Add User

If I click the "Add User" link, I see the user I would like to add with a checkbox next to it, but I click the check box and nothing happens. There are no buttons that do anything whatsoever. It is a wild goose chase ending in cosmic joke, apparently.

The Documentation tab has a lot of helpful info.
see http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/general-topics/simple-permis... for an overview of permissions.
note: Advanced permissions are accessed by editing a folder (see link to documentation). This needs to be done before the option is visible on the front end.

Thank you, I will check it out. Surprisingly, Google has been more helpful in finding Permissions documentation on the Concrete5 site than the Documentation button in the menu up top.

I just found this page through Google:

http://www.concrete5.org/documentation/general-topics/simple-permis...

...which you can not find by clicking any of the links under Permissions in the documentation.

PS - I see after the fact that you've linked the same page. How did you find it? Google?

If you choose the Documentation tab, then select "Developers Guide", a full page directory opens divided into different topics. The info on permissions is in under the "Basics" column.

With free editing tools and a FTP program like Filezilla, its a snap to upgrade to Advanced Permissions.
Hope this helps!
