Header/Navigation missing
Permalink
Please excuse my ignorance but I am new to Concrete5, and fear that I may have ruined my installation. I am running Concrete5 5.7 locally on Xampp which I find to be much quicker than using a cloud server.
I have installed Fundamental theme and created the barebones of a 12 page website…..however, when changing colours in Header/Navigation my Navigation Menu has disappeared (although still showing in Dashboard). All Versions just show the latest version – with Navigation menu missing.
I have tried changing the Theme to Elemental – but still no sign of the Navigation.
Would really appreciate some help on this
Thanks

...but there might be some explanations.
1. If the areas are called differently between different themes you will get this exact behavior. Let's say one theme has a global area named "Header Navigation" and the other theme users a global area named "Topnav" then if you add blocks to "Header Navigation" they WILL no show up in themes that miss that area.
2. The navigation (autonav) is only a block as every other block, so maybe you deleted it by mistake.
3. When building a site you should ensure that you have no caching on, or at least ensure that you empty the cache after changes are made. As pages are cached as standard you can get very strange behaviour on your site if the cache is not in sync with your changes. Go to dashboard/system/optimization/clearcache on your site and empty the cache and see if it helps.
Good luck!
