Help with whitespace (full.php)

Hiya, I am having a nightmare of a time with this one thing, if anyone could point me in the right direction I would be a very happy chappy.

Ok I have in Headernav on every page with autonav

I am trying to insert an image right below that but I am ending up with a huge amount of whitespace in-between. (see 1.png)

If I try and insert the image into headernav it gives me scroll bars and makes the block small.

All I want to do is like in 3.png

Any hints on where I should look / what I can do to solve this.

Thanks in advance.

S.

I would start by looking at the developer console and finding out what style rule(s) are inserting the padding/margin/height or whatever is causing this.

Once you know the offending rules, you can begin plotting how to subvert them.

First thing you should do is look at the source in your browser using a developer tool like firebug or chrome developer tool and find out if it's due to some css padding or margin being added or some garbage characters.

Then you can try to pinpoint where it happens.

If you have a live website, I'd be happy to have a look if you want.

Thanks to both of you for the quick replies.

I just found it in the main.css and via trial and error managed to get to the bottom of it and reduced the space greatly and it now looks good.

thanks for the pointers it was starting to drive me mad!

Sorry I cant mark both as best answer :(

As you both said the same kind of thing I have marked the one that shows first to me.

sorry had I know I couldn't mark both, I wouldn't have marked either out of politeness.
