HELP. Site editor broken.
Alright, so Monday I had put up an announcement on this site (it's for a local church), and today I went back to update it.
I find the editing interface completely broken. Not only that, but the login screen looks completely different. (Also I cannot log out. I am currently logged in and in edit mode, and there is no way for me to log out.)
Before I go any further: header_required and footer_required ARE there. I made sure of this. (Though at this point I think this goes beyond that.)
This site was perfectly fine at the beginning of last week; I haven't even so much as looked at the Analytics data for it since then, to be honest.
Further info: When I say the edit bar at the top is gone, I mean completely. There's not even a plain grey bar with missing 'edit' and 'dashboard' buttons. There is NOTHING.
Adding to this, if I were logged in but NOT in edit mode, when I scroll all the way down to the bottom of the site, all the editing bar's HTML is there; there's no styling to it -- it's just the HTML skeleton -- but it's there. At the bottom of the page. I clicked the 'edit' link, and that is how I got myself stuck (permanently, so it seems) in edit mode.
Thank God visitors to the site cannot see any of this mess. I'm just thankful for that. However, unfortunately, even THOUGH I am stuck in edit mode, I am without the ability to actually edit the site. (Honestly -- irony is having a field day with me.)
(P.S. -- The large space in 'edit-mode1.png' which looks like it's supposed to have something there -- that's because it IS supposed to have something there. There's an image slider there, which appears when the editor is working properly. smh.)
Infinite thanks in advance to anybody who can help with this.

ETA #2: Approx. 9 p.m., same day as original post, and everything is fine again.
I have absolutely no idea what happened. I did nothing to get it started working again, either, so I have no idea what made it decide to start complying again.
At any rate, I'm going ahead and marking this 'best answer' so nobody has to deal with this. ;)

Eureka.
Alas, just when things were looking like they'd be (at least somewhat) fine, when I was logged in, the edit bar was STILL not there. However, at least there's no HTML editing links down at the bottom of the page. (But again, when I say the edit bar is gone, I do mean gone -- no plain grey bar, even.)
