Hide a Block?

I have the latest version and have enabled advanced permissions

I have a "please login or register etc..." block that shows up on the forum page.
I went into permissions for that block and set only guest user group to be able to read. I unchecked read for all other users.

Yet the block is seen by everyone.

Any idea why? Maybe I went about this the wrong way?

If your aim is to hide the block content from users who are logged in, the following might be helpful...

My other issue is all of my pages are pulling permissions fromt he home page.

I am trying to make admins for certain pages and I am unable to do so.
Any idea where that setting is?

I love the new C5 but it's confusing the hell outta me. lol

Click on the page in the site map, and choose "Set Permissions."

I have tried that. It reverts back. All of them say they are drawing permissions from "home".
