Hide blocks - when add block in "edit page" mode

Hi,

Can someone help me with this simple question.
I can't find it on this forum.

I want to hide the most blocks when a editor add a block to a page in edit mode. Only the "Content" block and one other is enough for my client.
See attached file.

When I set "advanced permissions" on that page it doesn't take effect.

Thanks in advance,
Mirjam

Hi,

Pick a page and place in edit mode.

Click the grey 'add to' box and pick set permissions.

Only tick the blocks you want to use.

Hope that helps.

See attached.

Cheers

Hi Steev

Thank you very much!

Do I have to do this for every existing page of the website and for every block on the page?
Because it only works for one page and one block now. It is much work to set permissions for every page. Is there a method to realize this?

Mirjam

Hi,

You could try 'Pages and Themes - page types' in the dashboard and choose your page. Click defaults, put in edit mode and set permissions.

hope that helps.

Hi Steev,

I'll try your idea later. Thank you.

Now suddenly the problem is that when I login as an 'editor' the editing bar is disappeared. I can't figure out why this happens I didn't update C5 or change something in the php, css or jquery. It is strange.

Hi,

Check permissions allowed for 'editors' in dashboard.

Have set check boxes for users and groups correctly?

Hi Steev,

Did exactly the permissions chapter settings from the book "Concrete 5 Beginner's Guide" from Remo Laubacher.
It worked fine but the edit bar was suddenly disappeared.
When I login as admin it is working fine.
It is for now not a real problem because I'm trying thinks localy but it is strange anyway and I hope this will not happen when the site is online.

Thanks again,
Mirjam

Hi,

Sorry, but it's a permission thing you need help with.

You need to look how permissions are set from top (dashboard) to bottom (page).

If you more help let me know.

Hi Steev,

You are right, it must be a permission thing.
I really do believe that too.

I can't show you the permissions I've set, because it is a site setup local but when I have this problem on-line I will definitely let you know and maybe you can help me then.

Thanks you for all your replays and that you are looking with me into this problem!

Hi Steev,

You are absolutely right!

I had to set for every page the permissions in the "Sitemap" part off the dashboard and also had to mark "Show system pages" to let the group/user go to the dashboard to when logged in.

Your replays helped me with this.

Thank you very much!
