Homepage blank

I'm not sure what happened, but I'll run through.
I was in edit mode on the homepage, at the same time I was creating an article, I cleared the cache and when I got back to the homepage it was completely blank. I believe the homepage is stuck in some kind of edit mode and I'm not sure how to get it out. Every other page on the site works fine.
The editing bar does not display on the homepage, just the menus on top of the site and nothing else.

Looking into it some more, this may have something to do with recent h1 code put onto the frontpage... unfortunately I'm not sure how to access it other than through the frontpage.
