Horizontal Alignment of Blocks

I want to add two blocks side by side in the Header block. For example a content block on the left and a slide show to the right. They always get placed vertically. How do I do this?
Area Splitter add-on. I did exactly what you want to do first by changing the template. Later I discovered the Area Splitter, which makes life so much cooler. Great add-on; you should definitely get it.
Thanks. I was hoping for a standard feature. Area Splitter seems to do what I want and it is cheap. I see that it's status is Yellow (works most of the time). That does concern me.
i think it's just on a couple of really complex blocks that it has trouble. it should be fine with content, images, videos, etc. i agree that something like this should be a core feature too. maybe in the next few months.
