How can i remove index.php from the URL?

I want to remove index.php from URL. how can remove it, plese tell me if any one know the solution.

You'll need to turn on 'Pretty URLs'.

Go to - Dashboard -> System & Settings -> SEO & Statistics -> Pretty URLs -> Check the little box that says "Enable Pretty URLs" -> Save

Or use the 'Intelligent Search'- Search for 'Pretty URLs'

I tried this, and everytime I clicked on a link I was still getting a URL with index.php in it. I found out I had to go to System & Settings->Optimization->Clear Cache, and that solved the problem.
